Katy Goring

Managing Partner

Goring has been actively involved in the Southeast Asia region for the past 12 years and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Library of Congress Asian Division Friends Society. From 2004-2008, Goring served as the Executive Director of the United States-Indonesia Society (USINDO). Goring managed USINDO’s financial and business operations at its headquarters in Washington, DC and its branch office in Jakarta, Indonesia. She also managed the USINDO summer studies program in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The program is widely regarded as the pre-eminent language and cultural immersion program for American students. Prior to her tenure at USINDO, Goring worked at Van Zorge Heffernan & Associates, an investment advisory firm based in Jakarta.

Goring began her professional career in the sports medicine field. Starting in 1997, she worked in Southeast Asia as a consultant for Rebound Asia (M) SDN.BHD for the 1998 Commonwealth Games hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Goring coordinated the athletic event medical coverage for all sporting venues at the Games. Goring also designed strength and rehabilitation programs for Malaysia’s national gymnastics and weightlifting teams; both of which won unprecedented gold medals in the 1998 Games.

Upon returning to the U.S., Goring was awarded a Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowship. She holds Masters degrees in Business Administration and International Affairs from Ohio University. Goring also holds a Masters degree in Exercise & Sport Science from the University of Arizona. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Goring speaks Bahasa Indonesia & Bahasa Melayu.
